Patech Tackle Euro Reporting For RPA
Patech, in conjunction with hosting partner, Netstore, were assigned by the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) to evaluate a number of options to address the agency’s Euro reporting requirements. Established in October 2001, the RPA is responsible for the CAP payment functions formerly delivered by the DEFRA Paying Agency and the Intervention Board. In line with new European legislation, the RPA were required to submit reports identifying the payments made to CAP beneficiaries. However the Euro directive required the reports to be submitted in Euro currency. Patech thereby evaluated a number of options that addressed the requirement, focusing on Oracle products: Multiple Reporting Currencies (MRC) and Global Accounting Engine (AX). The evaluation process concluded Oracle MRC to be the most appropriate solution for the RPA’s reporting requirement. The Agency is currently planning the MRC project.

The Oracle Multiple Reporting Currencies (MRC) feature allows you to report and maintain accounting at the transaction level, in more than one functional currency. The Oracle Global Accounting Engine (AX) program provides a subledger accounting system. For more information on either of these two products please contact Patech on Info@Patech-Solutions.com.

"Before using Oracle Discoverer we had to stop work on other projects if a parliamentary question came in, to ensure that we could respond to it within the 48 hour deadline", said Julie Duffy. "We now respond to typical questions in just 25 minutes. This has resulted in dramatic productivity improvements for our team. Oracle Discoverer also enables us to provide timely and accessible information in compliance with the Freedom of Information Act".
