Patech had
been awarded the contract by Slough Borough Council for the
implementation of an e-procurement solution. The council, an
existing user of the Oracle E-Business Suite sought an experienced
partner to implement an Oracle E-Business Suite based e-procurement
system. It was the council's intention to create purchase orders
through an on-line procurement system that integrated with its
financial system rather than creating purchasing orders in its
IDeA Marketplace system. With a very strong presence in local
government, Patech demonstrated a greater understanding of issues
concerning the council and were successfully awarded the contract.
The project went live in February enabling the council to ensure
orders are properly approved and correct budgets are allocated.
The e-procurement solution will also assist the council to lower
procurement costs by cutting transaction overhead, controlling
maverick spending and realising the full value of the council's
preferred supplier agreements. Patech Managed Services - Support
will be extending the relationship by providing ongoing functional,
technical and DBA support to the council.

Agency Receives Oracle E-Business Suite Review
The Environment
Agency - are the biggest organisation protecting and improving
the environment in England and wales. The organisation had been
running Oracle E-Busines Suite for a number of years and decied
a review of its back office processes was required to understand
where enhancements could be made. Patech were assigned to review
a number of areas of the Oracle E-Business Suite to identify
business improvements for the Environment Agency. The Patech
Functional Review covered business areas including Financials,
Payroll, CRM and Expenses. Patech will be recommending on areas
where improvements can be made.

has successfully Gone Live with Oracle Fixed Assets thanks to

2003 focsuing primarily on General Ledger, Accounts Payable,
Accounts Receivables, Purhcasing and Internet Procurement. Patech
demonstrated the real value of moving away from a legacy asset
system across to a solution integrated with the Trust's finance
system. Heart of England have realised significant cost savings
by selecting the Oracle Fixed Assets module, which the Trust
had previously obtained with the Oracle E-Business Suite bundle
thus incurring no additional licence cost. The Trust will gain
